Driveway To Hell What You Need To Know  

Weather in Rome, Georgia for next week is forecasted to be in the high 80s during the day with lows in the 60s at night.  Be sure to pack to dress accordingly.

The property is a farm with over 80 acres of land - which means there are beautiful scenic views and plenty of wildlife (animals and insects) around.  Oh and one hell of a driveway 😉  

THE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING AVAILABLE ON PROPERTY OR ON THE STREET NEAR THE PROPERTY.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
The Rome Police have informed us that any vehicles parked on the road could be towed at the vehicle owner's expense.

PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION TO THE PROPERTY:  

OVERNIGHT GUESTS: You will either park your vehicle or Uber/Rideshare to the following location in Rome, Georgia on Saturday, May 14, 2022.  The Parking Deck has been rented out completely for DWTH and there is no charge to you to park in the deck overnight.

At the parking deck you will be met by a BYLR DWTH Volunteer, checked in, and bused from this location to the DWTH Property beginning at 2:30pm.  Time slots for the bus must be registered in advance through this DWTH form.  The bus holds 50 people per ride, and we will do our best to accommodate your 1st choice time - but this is based on availability and first come first served on form responses. Failure to secure your time slot will result in you being assigned a time. You must show ID and your Shopify email confirmation to board the bus.  Only registered overnight participants will be allowed to board the bus.  

Sunday May 15, 2022, you will be bused back to the Parking Deck to retrieve your car and/or you can Uber/Rideshare to the airport from there.  Buses begin leaving property at 2pm. Time slots for the bus must be registered in advance through this DWTH form.  The bus holds 50 people per ride, and we will do our best to accommodate your 1st choice time - but this is based on availability and first come first served on form responses.

Failure to secure your time slot will result in you being assigned a time.    

DAY OF PARTICIPANTS:

Rocky Mountain and PFA Rome:

(Rocky Mountain Hydroelectric Plant & Recreational Area. Campground/Beach)

There is a $5 fee to park in this lot and the lot is only available for parking from Sunrise to Sunset.  All cars on premises after Sunset will be towed.  There is absolutely no overnight parking available at this location.  Signs will be posted to direct you to the Check In point for DWTH starting at 7am. You will not be allowed access to the property prior to 7am.  Check In closes promptly at 7:30am.  

SCHEDULE UPON ARRIVAL FOR OVERNIGHT PARTICIPANTS:

Day 1, May 14, 2022

3 pm - 6pm Arrive on your designated bus, check in and camp set up (30 minutes) - please note that there will be a light bag check at the arrival for all participants We will have activities scheduled from 3:30 - 6:30 as well including a trail hike, chat, and optional cold plunge.

6 pm - 7pm Dinner (vegan option available)

7 pm - 10 pm Evening activities include Pre-Race Conversation, Breathwork, Community Bonding, & Fireside Chat  10 pm Lights out

10 pm - 5am It is prohibited from leaving the camping area for any reason whatsoever  

Day 2, May 15, 2022

6:30 am - 7:30 am Breakfast will be served (Oatmeal and Acai Bowls) ALL TENTS SHOULD BE PACKED UP DURING THIS TIME

7 am - 7:30am Arrival/Registration for 1 Day Event only participants

7:30 am Breathwork with Dr. Trisha Smith/Sunrise stretch Activation Yoga with Laurie

8:00am Jesse welcome remarks

8:15am Race Starts

1:15pm Race Ends

1:15 - 3:30pm Post Race Celebration for all Overnight and Race Day Only Participants - Lunch, Cold Plunge, Breathwork, etc.

2pm - 5 pm Bus Departures back to Parking Deck in Rome, GA  

*Please Note: there will be Porta Johns on the property with toilets and handwashing stations, it is important to note that it is prohibited from urinating anywhere other than in the designated restrooms. There are no public or private showers available and using the handwashing stations for personal showers are not permitted on the property, additionally, public nudity of any kind is prohibited.

CAMPING AREA:

All tents must be fully set up during your designated setup time

All tent locations will be marked.  You must set up your tent in your designated location

No fires are allowed in the camping area (or anywhere on the property)

You are not permitted to cook on property

Lights out is at 10pm.  We ask that you be respectful of your neighbors – no music, loud conversations, etc., please.  YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE DESIGNATED CAMPING AREA AFTER 10 PM SATURDAY EVENING.

Sleeping in a fully enclosed tent is required

All trash from the camping area must be cleaned up and put in the available receptacles

All tents and personal items must be packed up between 6:30 –7:30 amm and left in your designated camping location

Porta Johns will be stationed at the camp area.  Please be considerate of others

Be sure to have your headlamp/flashlight handy when leaving your tent.  There is wildlife on property so be aware of your surroundings at all times

MANDATORY ITEMS TO BRING:

Fully enclosed tent for sleeping If you do not bring a tent or have someone to share a tent with you will be asked to leave the property at 10 PM and will be permitted to reenter at 7 AM the following day. For your safety and the safety of others, it is not permitted to sleep on a tarp, open tarp tent or without a fully enclosed tent

SUGGESTED PACKING LIST:

Sleeping bag and/or pillow/blanket

Sleeping matt/pad

2 towels (one to sit on/for yoga and one for after the cold plunge)

Spare cell phone battery pack - there are no charging stations available

Race Nutrition: we will have hydration stations and some nutrition, but if there is something you are used to having during races, you should bring it

Any necessary medication you may need Allergy medication if any required - including EpiPen if you have any life-threatening allergies (we do have a medic on site for all of Sunday)

Toothbrush/toothpaste and other personal hygiene items

Race clothes: wicking shorts or pants, wicking shirt or tank top, socks, sports bra, etc.

Driveway and hike recommended footwear: sneakers or trail running shoes

Change of clothes post-event

Evening clothes for sleeping

Headlamp or flashlight

Bug spray Sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

Poles for race

Metal Spike/Cleat Shoes. Rubber cleated shoes are allowed

All dangerous weapons, including but not limited to: guns, knives, slingshots, crossbows, swords, and pepper spray. We have onsite security

Fire starters are not permitted as no personal fires will be permitted onsite

Personal cooking stove or gas tank

All illegal drugs, alcohol, etc.

Bad attitude :)  

13.1 MILE DRIVEWAY TO HELL RACE RULES:

You have 5 hours to complete up to 13 laps on the driveway. When time ends, you will need to leave the driveway

There are no poles allowed on the driveway

You MUST stay on the driveway, in your designated lane - you cannot go on the side of the driveway for safety reasons.  Passing/running lane is on the inside of the lane on the left.  Walkers stay to the outside of the lane on the right

Unsportsmanlike conduct can result in removal from the event

Swearing and other profanities when directed at other participants are not permitted

All trash and litter is to be disposed of in the explicitly marked containers, littering can result in disqualification from the event

 GENERAL PROPERTY RULES:

This is a private residence, and we expect that you treat this property with respect and like your home

You must always remain in the designated areas.  If you leave the designated area, you may be removed from the property

It is not permitted to enter any of the homes or buildings that you see on the property, including the penned-in farm animals, everything will be clearly marked on where you are permitted to go  

Littering of any kind is not permitted

This is not a spectator event, therefore only paid registrants/staff and approved volunteers are allowed on property at all times. No guests will be allowed entry

There is absolutely no parking on property

All registrants and participants must be 18 years of age or older

Do not feed the wildlife or try and bring home any wildlife that you find

Do not destroy the nature in any way, take only photos and leave only footprints
